Home made hot composters

I have 3 of these polystyrene boxes and I think they are a bit similar to hot compost bins so I'm having a try to see if it's possible to hot compost on a smaller scale. 

I've layered each box with the same mix; ripped up cardboard pieces, grass cuttings that have been festering in an old bin for a few days and 2 year old bokashi, repeat the same layers and then finally more cardboard pieces on top.

I'll check them in a week to see how the temperature is getting on and whether anything has changed inside.
