Nearly there for sowing and growing
We've been so lucky with the weather. This was Easter Saturday - a glorious day so we got on with the final bit of uncovering the soil areas ready for cardboard and compost to go on top.
It's been hard work - first you have to lift the grass, separating it from the deep gravel underneath, then bucket up the deep layers of gravel and soil, then lift the weed suppressant - and all the time free the worms that are living in this strange environment. Often they are tangled in the filaments of plastic suppressant and it's hard to part from it.
We've got a huge amount of gravel to deal with and as yet no idea where we'll use it all. There's more that's not shown too!
