The apprentice root remover has a bash

Minor root removal by an apprentice root removal remover, using incorrect tools!

I've managed to remove a quite old and dead clematis root ball, 3 winter flowering jasmine roots (quite significant and still more to do) and clearing the wire frames that were supporting all those plants and the cotoneaster that's still there.
