Growing things!
Were going to try no mow May, although Pip is a bit twitchy about it as he's not sure the push mower will get through the long grass at the end of the month. I figured if we had neater edges it would make the longer grass look more intentional and it's amazing how it changes the look of even a small space.
Clearing round the wishing well yesterday made me realise how much the grass has encroached. I've split and replanted a few (are they primrose?) to create a central gap for the small shrub that's in the blue bucket. It's a goji berry bush and I think this the perfect spot for it having chatted to a friend last Friday who told me they take over a space very rapidly. That should keep a bit of control!
I've planted 4 white rockery plants up the side of the steps here. The blue tags are to remind me where they are for watering in!
We have pea and bean shoots peeping through. It's so exciting. I know it's rather late, but we are still giddy!
A gift of sweet peas from Sr Margaret when she came for a meeting this week. I have some more to plant that Mum gave me as seeds too, they are a little smaller so will wait a week or so before putting those in somewhere.
