Lime mortar fixes things

I'm told it's called pointing, not mortaring! 

So today I have been pointing half the circle of crazy paving with the very lovely lime mortar which dries slowly to an off white and is very hard once set.

The other half of the circle still needs lifting and setting in but I'll have to break it up first into its component slab pieces so that's for another day.

I also made up some more mortar and filled in the cracks and gaps in the waterfall pools between the top and bottom ponds. 

I've filled some up to the new mortar line so the water can settle a bit before I connect it all up and run water from top to bottom. The bottom pond is so low at the moment. Hopefully there some rain on the way this weekend to fill it up more naturally.
