Shedding water

The shed is a bit rickety and maybe won't stand being moved when we get the building work done next year, but it's worth keeping it going for now.

The roof felt was really old and split in places. There were a few leaky spots too so we decided to put new felt on top.

Pip's done a great job of covering it.

Then that got us thinking about rainwater collection, so after a scout round the garden, garage and shed for leftover bits of drainpipe, a few screws, hooks and cable ties later, we have our first water butt in place.

That'll make watering a bit less reliant on the tap and might even help the blueberry plants!

We sat in the conservatory later and listened to the thunder and watched the rain falling whilst trying to check if the new shed was shedding water in the direction of the butt!

We couldn't be sure, but it looked like it was working.
