Step aside ...

With the kitchen flooring a discussion topic we also looked at the threadbare carpet in the conservatory. Deciding it would be good to have new matching lino in both rooms, we've now removed the old carpet to the tip, including the carpet from the step between the kitchen and conservatory.

When we've used the room space previously with visitors using tables and chairs the step has felt over sized and intrusive to the space so we set about drawing a smaller step. 

Then Vlad cut it to size. 

Next step (pardon the pun) is for Vlad to bolt it to the floor and then add new skirting boards to either side - that's a job for Gary, the super joiner.
