Keeping abreast of the situation

Our super joiner has fitted the new feature on the lounge wall this week. It protrudes a couple of inches from the wall and I've managed to get the wallpaper panels on. Having never done that before I don't want to try it again.

I'm really pleased with the result though. The next step is for the joiner, fitting mitred oak stained edging strips to the panel, and then that's another thing ticked off. I've stained the wood and will get it waxed tomorrow, ready for installation sometime this week.

Then the final bit in the lounge is the curtain pole. We seem to have a gap behind the plastered wall that's proving difficult to fix to. We are on plan C for that this week, going for a wooden batten (which will no doubt need painting). Fingers crossed!
