Project Cherry Tree Cottage (ongoing)

Gary is now ably assisted by Wochiech ("Voycheck") on changing the garage to a flexible space that will be guest accommodation/workshop/party space with an en-suite shower room - the same size as the one in the 'Murray Room at no 8'. The eventual main room will be about the size of the conservatory, approx 3m x 4m which is 2m wider than the Murray Room at no 8. 

Today they are demolishing the side wall of the garage. The wall still remaining at the left side is where the en-suite will be, behind the existing wall. On the outside of that wall will be an outside sink in a covered area for wet boots and cleaning gardening tools, etc.

Next steps were to dig the ground for footings ... then wait for the building inspector to have a good look (done by video). 

Next step is building up, woohoo!

View from the kitchen window, 24 April 2024. Walls going up now and decisions about window locations made. Next thing to decide is the position of the internal kitchen sink unit which we think we've figured out. 

2 May: all blockwork completed (they had to cut so many quirky shapes), rafters on, boarded and covered in case it rains. Felt roof going on this coming weekend
