So, the digger was on hire for 3 days

last day today

and we had already talked about creating a parking space on the front garden area

so why not turn it into reality

today?

Wochiech got onto it straight away and within an hour the grass was stripped clear. All the plants have been moved to the back garden, awaiting final locations - they'll be settled pretty soon. 

It's been surprising to find how shallow the soil was on the front, less than 12" (in fact less than 8" in some places). 

This was Debbie in the front garden last spring, proud of all her hard work moving plants from the back to the front. 

Eeek, sorry Deb ... we've had to move them back again
