bouncy floor walking
The laminate floor has been laid on a sub floor that wasn't level and the resulting dips and undulations are not acceptable.
We are now assessing ideas and options for sorting the issue which range from:
- doing nothing (not an option because the laminate floor where my left foot is stepping has too deep a gap below it)
- lay another laminate floor on top going the other way (the undulations are too great for this to work)
- lift the current floor, pack underlay padding into the dips and re-lay
These are not the only ones, and they may not work!
First step is calculate the scale of the problem.
The numbers are a count of how many 2mm cut and stacked pieces of laminate underlay are needed to level to the highest point in the room. So each number needs to be doubled to get the height needed. It's about 26mm at the deepest!
