precipitation and the pergola
We are very nearly finished with the list of jobs, hoorah!
This one has been talked about since the very beginning, but it's never been the right time. The aim is to let some air through on the deck but not the rain as much as it sometimes does through the back when the wind blows from that side.
The new upper trellis panel has definitely achieved that and Gary will add a perspex sheet this side of it to stop the rain coming through further. It'll help us to keep the deck dry so the cushions in the sitting area don't get wet.
The lower trellis will be covered with some fence panelling to attempt to encourage Audrey's plants to stay on her side, hopefully.
Whilst the deck is cleared for the trellis and larch panel sealing oil I'm also going to do the wood of the deck and pergola, so next step is to hoover the deck and wash it down in preparation.
I also have a plan for painting the chairs at some point, dark blue probably as we have some spare.
I feel a big painting task is ahead of me as the cottage needs touch up painting and gloss work too.
